Talk:PeopleAggregator FAQ

There are three things I'm trying to figure out with PeopleAggregator. Any response/help on these would be greatly appreciated: 1. Is there much support? 2. Are there many add-ons or plugins? 3. How does it compare to Elgg / should I use Elgg instead?

Thanks.

I myself have used ELGG and I will not put it down on the fact it is a very good piece of software but I do not see that it is in the same class as PA. PA has far more features than that of ELGG and personally I was not happy with the Administration ability of ELGG.

PA is using AJAX and Web2.0 standards and has the excellent feature of the networking, and it also boasts all of the features of ELGG. This does make PA a better piece of software to use.

As for support, I have used PA for a couple of weeks up to this point and like with any installation I have had problems. I have e-mailed Phil of PA and had a reply within hours, and his answer has either solved the issues or put me on the right path. I would not say the support is poor and by use of the http://lists.peopleaggregator.org website there should be a great level of support.

As for plugins well admittably there are not many, but with what you have integrated at this moment there is not a huge need for it. I am sure the community will start adding support on plugins and additions to the software. Only time will tell.

CONCLUSION: Well in short I think that both pieces are excellent bits of software. ELGG has more backing at this moment in time but this can only change if people start to see the power of PA. I have chosen PA as my base and will stick with it as long as it is in service.

Hope this detail helps.
